Give girls better access to sexual health services in Uganda

Give girls better access to sexual health services in Uganda

One in four teenage girls in Uganda, are either pregnant or already have had their first child.

Girls and young women in Uganda don’t have access to the information and services needed to help them choose when they become mothers.

On the 24 March, a group of young campaigners from Uganda – supported by Plan International – will meet with members of their national Parliament to demand better sexual health education and information for young people.

But they need your help! Stand in solidarity with brave girls in Uganda and add your name to our petition.

Stand in solidarity with brave girls in Uganda

Dear Members of Parliament of Uganda,

I stand in solidarity with young campaigners in Uganda to give girls a real choice over when they become mothers.

I support their campaign for better sexual health services and information for young people – in particular by:
• Increasing funding for adolescent health in the upcoming national budget
• Establishing adolescent friendly service delivery points
• Training health workers equipping them with professional skills necessary to work with young people
